The Big Berkey’s 2.25-gallon capacity will take approximately two hours and fifteen minutes to filter through the upper chamber to the bottom chamber. Variables can cause the filtering speed to vary, either faster or slower.

1. How to Clean Big Berkey Water Filter?
Start by removing all of the filter elements from the upper chamber. Rinse each filter element with a stream of cold water for 1-2 minutes to remove any loose sediment or particles. Next, soak each element in a solution of warm water and white vinegar for 15-20 minutes to release any trapped contaminants. After the soak, rinse each filter element with a stream of cold water for an additional 1-2 minutes. reassemble the filters into the upper chamber and you’re ready to go!
2. How long does the Big Berkey take to Filter Water?
It takes approximately an hour to filter one litre of water through a Big Berkey, which has a capacity of 8.5 litres or roughly three and a half quarts.
3. Will Big Berkey black Filter River Water?
Berkey water filters can effectively filter and purify water from untreated, raw sources like lakes, rivers, and ponds.

In order to be eligible for a return the item must be in good condition and in the same state that you received it in. You must have the item in the original packaging.
